1 · Free suitability review (email only)
Send your project details through the contact form. You get an honest read on fit: match, near-match with a scoped alternative, or a clear no with reasoning. No voice calls, no pressure.
SERVICES
Four practice areas, one engagement path: send your project details by email for a free suitability review. If there's a match, we schedule a paid kickoff.
START WITH A FREE REVIEW →01 · DATA ANALYTICS
Exploratory analysis, data cleaning and validation, modelling support, dashboards and reporting, and findings written for decision-makers — always traceable to where the numbers came from.
Typical work: auditing a messy dataset (missing values, duplicates, broken references — the same checks my daily pipeline runs), defining aggregations and KPIs with their limits stated, and building recurring reports so the numbers stay trustworthy after handover.
For example, a spreadsheet-based reporting process could be turned into a repeatable workflow that reconciles inconsistent records, checks for missing values and duplicates, defines meaningful KPIs, and produces a report you can trust and reproduce.

ASK ABOUT AN ANALYTICS ENGAGEMENT →02 · DATA ENGINEERING
Pipeline design, API and source integration, transformation logic, replay-safe loads, and the verification habits that keep downstream analysis trustworthy. Proof of approach: the MTG Scout daily pipeline and Field Notes.
A pipeline engagement typically covers one data flow end to end: source connection, staging, transformation, verified load, and scheduled runs with failure alerts — built resumable from day one, so an interrupted run costs one batch, never a restart.
Timelines depend on the nature of the problem, the condition and accessibility of the data, and the desired outcome. Initial scoping establishes feasibility, deliverables and dependencies before an implementation timeline is agreed upon. Smaller, well-defined tasks may be completed quickly, while recurring data pipelines, complex transformations or analytical projects may require several weeks or more.
Every project begins with understanding the problem and agreeing on a realistic scope before implementation commitments are made.

SEE THE EVIDENCE IN FIELD NOTES →03 · SYSTEMS
Databases, APIs, deployment infrastructure, storage, telemetry, and automation — the systems that create, move, store, and expose information. Reproducible by design: Docker, Ansible, documented recovery.
Systems work includes database installation, design, and maintenance (MariaDB is home territory), storage moves with verification passes, backup setups with tested restores, and operations telemetry so you know what serving costs — the same progression documented across twenty years from classrooms to customer data centers to cloud production.
Engagements are scoped around defined deliverables, with documentation and handover included. Ongoing administration, monitoring, and maintenance are not assumed to be part of a project and must be agreed separately. You can expect an initial response to enquiries within two business days; this is a response target, not a guarantee of project start or resolution time.

DESCRIBE YOUR SYSTEMS PROBLEM →04 · AUTOMATION
Linux tooling, Python scripting, scheduled jobs, deployment playbooks, and operational checks that turn fragile manual workflows into boring, reliable ones.
First to automate: the things that run on a schedule and fail quietly — daily syncs, backups with freshness checks, deploy steps currently done by hand. Every automation ships with its runbook, so handover means reading one page, not inheriting a mystery.
A recurring manual report can become a scheduled job that validates its inputs, records its results, and flags failures instead of letting them go unnoticed. The result is less repetitive checking, clearer failure signals, and a process another person can understand and maintain.

ASK ABOUT AN AUTOMATION ENGAGEMENT →HOW ENGAGEMENTS START
Send your project details through the contact form. You get an honest read on fit: match, near-match with a scoped alternative, or a clear no with reasoning. No voice calls, no pressure.
If the review finds a match, we schedule a paid remote or onsite consultation to define scope, timeline, and deliverables. $75/hour CAD for standard remote technical work, paid discovery when appropriate, individually scoped project quotes, and separately negotiated terms for onsite and long-term engagements.
Projects are organized around clearly defined deliverables and agreed milestones, with a communication rhythm appropriate to the scope and duration of the engagement.
Each milestone establishes the intended outcome, the work to be completed, and the criteria used to evaluate whether the deliverable meets the agreed requirements.
Depending on the project, checkpoints may include written progress updates, demonstrations of working software, preliminary analysis, reports or validation results.
At the outset, we'll agree on how progress is communicated, when reviews take place, and what constitutes completion for each milestone. Any significant changes to requirements, scope or timelines will be discussed before proceeding.
The objective is straightforward: maintain visibility into progress, surface issues early, and ensure that delivered work remains aligned with the original objectives.
